Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Acton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benjamin Barkley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benjamin Barkley has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Acton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Benjamin Barkley! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Acton avoids a punch combination nicely.
Acton ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Barkley. Acton gets in close and instigates a clinch. Acton has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Barkley is trying to keep an underhook but Acton manages to get the takedown into half guard. Acton passes the guard and advances to mount! The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Barkley tries to reverse the position but Acton maintains control. Barkley is in a horrible position here. Acton smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Barkley is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Acton looking to secure an arm triangle but Barkley defends it well. Acton content just to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Acton lands a big elbow. Barkley is looking to get to half guard. Acton controlling his opponent. Acton is going olschool here, as he tries to force Barkley to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Barkley shrugs it off. Acton putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Acton scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Barkley?
Barkley tries to hold on but Acton pushes him away. Barkley manages to regain half guard. Good work. Acton has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Acton trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barkley really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Barkley tries to lock up and control but Acton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Acton working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Barkley manages to regain half guard. Good work. Barkley wants to get back to full guard. Acton wants to take a breather but Barkley is having none of it. Acton is really struggling to control Barkley but he's trying to hold on to the position. Acton thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Acton working the head and body with strikes. Acton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Barkley defends it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barkley looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Barkley is looking to control Acton's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barkley avoid being mounted?
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Horrible takedown by Barkley or perhaps it was just good defense by Acton which made him look bad. Acton moves in looking to clinch but Barkley pushes him off. Barkley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barkley tries to clinch and Acton counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Barkley's guard now. Acton trying to control the position from guard on top but Barkley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barkley controls Acton momentarily but Acton frees himself. Barkley is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Acton wants to control from the top but Barkley keeps moving. Acton wants to get up but he can't break Barkley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Barkley keeping moving, preventing Acton from controlling successfully.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Barkley has his takedown stuffed and Acton counters by clinching up. Peter Acton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benjamin Barkley. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Acton takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter Acton dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Acton has managed to clinch.
Barkley wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Acton keeps control of Barkley as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Barkley taking a breather. Acton pressing his opponent against the ropes. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Acton for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Acton comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Acton is pushing Barkley up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
That's one minute gone in the round. Acton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Barkley takes a swing at Acton's ribcage but misses. Benjamin Barkley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Acton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Barkley swats him away and circles back towards the center. Acton gets in close and instigates a clinch. Acton drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Acton lands a knee to the body.
Barkley wants to break free but Acton has control.
Barkley has had enough of the clinch but Acton keeps him there for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Barkley blocks an elbow strike. Barkley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Barkley gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Acton counters with a single leg into guard. Barkley didn't expect that. Acton content to stall in guard here. Barkley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Acton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Barkley tries to land a sweep but no joy. Acton has gone for a leg lock! Barkley slips out almost immediately though and dives into Acton's guard. Acton is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Barkley defends well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Acton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Barkley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Acton swivels though and keeps the full guard. Acton controls Barkley momentarily but Barkley frees himself. Barkley is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Acton has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Barkley is looking to defend but Acton has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Barkley! Acton pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Barkley taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Peter Acton!
