Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Syd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Syd has chosen Poisen as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Don Syd! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones shoots in but Syd avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jones wants to clinch. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Syd swats him away and circles back towards the center. Syd lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively. Syd misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Syd pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Syd gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. Syd didn't expect that. Jones looking to pass the guard. Syd is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Syd is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jones is controlling him. Syd pulls Jones in close to prevent any damage. Syd striking from the bottom.
Syd is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Syd bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard. Jones is looking for a triangle but Syd pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jones looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Syd throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Syd wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Syd with a flurry of punches that miss. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Syd wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Jones's closed guard. He's half up but Jones has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Jones pivots and extends the arm, Syd falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Jones! Well done that man!
