The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lipovac gets caught flat footed, as Kraijcek shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Lipovac looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kraijcek postures up in Lipovac's guard and throws a big left but Lipovac blocks it.
Kraijcek must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lipovac is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Lipovac looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kraijcek has picked Lipovac up and slammed him! Lipovac can't keep hold of the triangle and Kraijcek manages to pass to side control!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lipovac defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kraijcek.

Kraijcek shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kraijcek was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lipovac is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Kraijcek tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Kraijcek is going olschool here, as he tries to force Lipovac to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lipovac shrugs it off.
Kraijcek has control of Lipovac's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lipovac regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Lipovac sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Kraijcek really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lipovac. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kraijcek takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kraijcek thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Kraijcek wants to take a breather but Lipovac is having none of it.
Kraijcek uses his free foot to push down on Lipovac's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lipovac.

Kraijcek is landing with some decent strikes but Lipovac is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kraijcek lands a big shot there that rocks Lipovac but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Lipovac is looking to improve his position but Kraijcek isn't that keen on the idea.

Ruud Kraijcek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kraijcek throws a front kick aimed at Lipovac's knee but Lipovac avoids it well.

Lipovac has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kraijcek can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lipovac got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kraijcek has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lipovac has managed to get both his arms back between Kraijcek's legs - danger averted.

and Kraijcek counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Lipovac is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Ruud Kraijcek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
