Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luther Rennis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Tobin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!James Tobin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rennis throws a front kick aimed at Tobin's knee but Tobin avoids it well. Rennis just misses with a punch to the body.

A cross from Tobin lands. Rennis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tobin is trying to defend but Rennis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Rennis is looking to advance position but Tobin won't allow it. Tobin is trying to stand back up but Rennis is controlling him
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tobin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rennis is working away from the top position though. Rennis prevents Tobin from improving his position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rennis keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Tobin's head. Tobin will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Tobin slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Tobin wants to get back to full guard. Tobin is looking to escape. Rennis trying to pass the guard but Tobin defending well. Tobin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Rennis content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Rennis is fighting to break Tobin's control of his arms but Tobin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rennis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rennis scoring with some ground and pound. Rennis wants to pass the guard but Tobin is keeping the position. Tobin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rennis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rennis is working hard here to advance position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rennis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tobin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Tobin working a defensive guard here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Tobin scores with a decent looking hook. Rennis misses with a body shot.

Tobin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tobin wants it to stay on the feet. Rennis looks to score with a jab to the body but Tobin is just out of range. Tobin connects with a crisp jab. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Rennis throws a head kick that half lands.
James Tobin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rennis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Good shot there by Tobin. Tobin cracks a nice hook into Rennis's ribs. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jab by Tobin. Tobin connects with a body shot. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rennis moves out of range of the leg kick from Tobin. Rennis pivots, looking for a leg kick but Tobin is out of range and Rennis settles back down. A clash of legs there as Tobin blocks the low kick. Tobin has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Tobin connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Rennis! He's out on his feet! Tobin rushes in and drops Rennis with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
