Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chaz Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Maia is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Williams is trying to get an arm triangle but Maia is defending well. Williams is working Maia over with some ground and pound from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maia is looking to regain half guard here but Williams keeps moving and retains side control. Williams scores with a couple of short elbows. Maia is trying to improve his position. Maia manages to work his way to half guard, despite Williams's best efforts. Maia is looking for a sweep. Williams is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Williams is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Maia doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Williams. Williams is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Williams is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Williams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Williams avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Williams's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Williams passes Maia's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Maia is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Williams pulls his head out easily. Williams scoring with strikes to the body and head.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Williams throws a series of punches but Maia moves out of range. Williams throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maia's waist but Maia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Williams off to one side. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Williams ducks under a wild hook from Maia. Maia throws a hook to the side of Williams's head but Williams sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chaz Williams dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Maia fails with the takedown and Williams decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Maia's guard. Williams thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Maia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Williams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Williams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Maia throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Maia had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Williams is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Maia Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Williams's back instead. Williams is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Maia off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Williams breaks Maia's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Williams throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Maia was covering up waiting for the punch and Williams finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Anderson Maia will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Williams is aware though and is defending well. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Williams wants to get up but he can't break Maia's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
