Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tito Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jake the grid iron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). jake the grid iron has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tito Ortiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, jake the grid iron!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
the grid iron shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

the grid iron moves into the clinch.
the grid iron prevents a takedown attempt there.
the grid iron fails to pull guard.
Ortiz drops to a knee looking for a takedown but the grid iron gets the underhooks and prevents it.
the grid iron stalling against the cage.

the grid iron manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
the grid iron manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ortiz manages to get himself to full guard.
the grid iron postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Ortiz is breathing heavily.
the grid iron is looking to stand up but Ortiz won't let him.
the grid iron is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Ortiz keeping moving, preventing the grid iron from controlling successfully.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as the grid iron accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

the grid iron gets to his feet. Ortiz looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ortiz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by the grid iron.

Ortiz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. the grid iron was covering up waiting for the punch and Ortiz finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if the grid iron can do anything to dispel that myth.
the grid iron is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
the grid iron wants to pass the guard but Ortiz is defending well.

the grid iron is working for a submission of some sort.
the grid iron really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ortiz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

the grid iron tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ortiz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Ortiz tries to roll over but the grid iron keeps him under control.

the grid iron is looking to take a break and control but Ortiz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
the grid iron wants to free his trapped foot but Ortiz is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ortiz walks into a straight right hand from the grid iron.

the grid iron feints and as Ortiz raises his hands in defense, the grid iron changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ortiz wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and the grid iron is now in half guard.
Ortiz is looking to control the grid iron's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ortiz avoid being mounted?

Ortiz wants to get back to full guard.
the grid iron moves into full mount! Ortiz won't be happy about that!
Ortiz wants to hold on but the grid iron pushes him away.
the grid iron trying to control but Ortiz is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


the grid iron wants to clinch up but Ortiz keeps it at a distance.
the grid iron thows a body kick. Ortiz tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Ortiz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
the grid iron is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ortiz keeping full guard, as the grid iron tries to pass.
Ortiz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ortiz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
the grid iron slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Ortiz looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ortiz is working hard here to advance position.
the grid iron wants to control from the top but Ortiz keeps moving.
the grid iron postures up.
the grid iron tries to free his leg and advance position but Ortiz is retaining full guard.

Ortiz keeping moving, preventing the grid iron from controlling successfully.
the grid iron trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ortiz's guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
the grid iron works Ortiz's body with a nice hook.
the grid iron throws a sloppy head kick and Ortiz moves out of range easily.
the grid iron shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ortiz but Ortiz pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ortiz fails with a takedown attempt.
the grid iron stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

the grid iron bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
the grid iron tries to move to mount but Ortiz blocks the move with his legs.
the grid iron is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ortiz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Ortiz manages to get to full guard.
Ortiz trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

jake the grid iron showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

and Ortiz counters by clinching up.
Ortiz is looking for a takedown up against the cage. the grid iron gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Ortiz throwing strikes but missing.
the grid iron looking for a sweep. Not yet the grid iron, not yet.
Ortiz is fighting to break the grid iron's control of his arms but the grid iron is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ortiz is in close to the grid iron's body, working some short punches and elbows.

the grid iron managing to control the position.
the grid iron looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ortiz is one step ahead there.
Ortiz tries to free his leg and advance position but the grid iron is retaining full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

the grid iron looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ortiz!
Ortiz is in all sorts of trouble here.

the grid iron tries to control but Ortiz wriggling away.
Ortiz is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
the grid iron trying to control but he's not successful this time.
the grid iron with the ground and pound from mount.
Ortiz is looking to get to half guard.

the grid iron can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ortiz is looking to escape.
Ortiz sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Ortiz missing with punches from the bottom.

the grid iron is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ortiz tries to get to full guard but the grid iron has control of the leg.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ortiz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
the grid iron is stalling in the full guard.
the grid iron looking to sit in guard and control but Ortiz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

And that's the end of the fight!
jake the grid iron comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well the grid iron has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
