Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Lock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Lock is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Lock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Sobral! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lock fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sobral. Lock bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sobral is looking to reverse the position. Lock working the ground and pound. Lock tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lock has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lock goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Sobral rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Lock's guard! Nice work there by Sobral! Lock keeping full guard, as Sobral tries to pass. Lock looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Sobral trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sobral with a flurry of punches that miss. Sobral postures up in Lock's guard and throws a big left but Lock blocks it. Sobral thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Lock shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Lock is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sobral regains half guard. Sobral manages to get to full guard.
Sobral manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lock manages to get himself to full guard.
Lock looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sobral is one step ahead there. Sobral keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lock's head. Sobral trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lock can't keep his opponent in guard - Sobral advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Sobral passes to side control. Sobral working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sobral is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lock is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lock controls the position for a moment. Sobral working the body and head with strikes. Lock is trying to improve his position. Sobral lands some shots froms side control. Lock tries to improve position but can't. Lock is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sobral off and has taken his back! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lock lands strikes to the head. Sobral is keeping busy.
Lock lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Sobral is rocked! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Lock working for a choke but Sobral is defending well. Sobral is still in real trouble! Can Lock finish him?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lock has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Lock really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Sobral. Sobral tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Sobral seems to have recovered his senses. Sobral manages to regain half guard. Good work. Lock wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sobral keeps working. Lock prevents Sobral from improving his position. Sobral is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lock's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lock's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lock turns into Sobral and is now in his guard.
Sobral working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lock doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lock manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sobral is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lock distracts Sobral with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Sobral bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lock's guard. Sobral passes easily into side control. Nice work. Sobral advances to mount. Sobral is working to isolate an arm here. It's a choreographed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Sobral extends the arm and Lock is forced to tap!
