Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between jeff hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
hansen tries to bum rush mac with a series of wild strikes but mac uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
mac shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says hansen as he avoids it easily.

hansen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
hansen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
mac goes for a takedown in the clinch but hansen prevents it.
mac tries to score a body lock takedown but hansen shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
jeff hansen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathan mac.
mac wants to break free but hansen has control.

hansen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
mac tries to clinch up

and hansen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in mac's guard.

hansen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on mac, up you get!

mac swings and misses with a shot to the body

so hansen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
mac is looking to stand back up but hansen counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by mac.
mac looks gassed!
hansen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

hansen seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
hansen throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A head kick from hansen lands but mac takes it in his stride.
mac tries for a takedown but hansen circles away easily

and hansen counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
hansen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but mac has him pressed against the cage.

hansen is pressed up against the cage. mac has hold of a leg and is looking to drag hansen down to the mat. hansen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

hansen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
mac throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

It looks like jeff hansen has been cut.
mac throws a half hearted mid kick.
hansen misses with a low kick.
mac doesn't succeed with the takedown

and hansen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by hansen.

and hansen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for mac!
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

hansen stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
hansen throws a sloppy head kick
and mac counters with a head kick. That will keep hansen thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

mac wants to clinch but hansen slips to the side

and hansen counters with a nice double leg into side control. mac won't be happy with that.
mac is trying to control hansen's posture but hansen avoids it.

hansen decides to stand back up. hansen steps back and let's mac get back to his feet.
mac clinches but hansen breaks the clinch
and hansen counters with a three punch combo that has mac backing up. mac nods at hansen to acknowledge the strikes.
Nathan mac seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

so hansen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
mac lands a good elbow from the bottom.
mac wants to sweep here but hansen controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
hansen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of mac is proving hard to escape from.

mac working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. hansen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but mac is tightening it up a little... hansen has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! hansen reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! hansen taps out! nice BJJ there by mac!
