Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Hay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Hay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Taylor! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hay shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hay showed some decent athleticism there. Hay seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Taylor tries to get to full guard but Hay has control of the leg. Hay is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Taylor defends it well. Hay tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Taylor looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Taylor tries to get to full guard but Hay has control of the leg. Taylor is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Taylor shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hay's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hay trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Taylor trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Taylor trying to control but Hay is working from the bottom. Hay escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Taylor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hay wants to sweep but no luck. Taylor tries to free his leg and advance position but Hay is retaining full guard. Taylor wants to control from the top but Hay keeps moving. Hay on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hay tries to get out of the position. Hay is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Taylor forces his way into half guard. Taylor looks gassed! Hay wants to control but Taylor is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Taylor stops Hay from getting back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Taylor fails with the takedown and Hay counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Taylor looking for a guillotine here but Hay defends easily.
Hay landing some decent shots from guard. Taylor controls Hay momentarily but Hay frees himself. Hay passes Taylor's left leg - he's now in half guard. Taylor trying to hold on to Hay's head to control him but Hay postures up.
Hay scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hay takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Taylor is trying to get back to full guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hay lands a nice short elbow. Hay is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Taylor looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hay prevents Taylor from improving his position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hay thows a left - swing and a miss! Hay misses with a takedown attempt and Taylor counters by clinching up. Taylor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Taylor drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hay keeping moving, preventing Taylor from controlling successfully. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hay tries to land a sweep but no joy. Taylor thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Taylor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hay has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Taylor has managed to get both his arms back between Hay's legs - danger averted. Hay looking for a sweep. Not yet Hay, not yet. Taylor pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hay is keeping the position for now. Hay striking off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Hay dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Taylor shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hay counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hay. Taylor has a closed guard, preventing Hay from standing up. Taylor not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Taylor looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Taylor is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hay postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Hay controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Hay has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Taylor to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Hay is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Taylor pulls down on the head and he's put Hay to sleep! This one is all over!
