Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Esperanza!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt keeps the fight on the outside.
Schmidt fails to land with a series of punches.
Schmidt wants to clinch but Esperanza slips to the side

and Esperanza counters by moving into the clinch.
Esperanza misses with a knee strike.

Schmidt wants to break the clinch but can't.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Esperanza just misses with a elbow thrown towards Schmidt's brow.

Schmidt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Schmidt holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Esperanza crunches a lovely knee into Schmidt's ribcage.

Esperanza lands an elbow that stopped Schmidt in his tracks for a moment.
Esperanza tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Esperanza is looking to clinch but Schmidt is avoiding it.

Esperanza moves into the clinch successfully.
Esperanza tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Schmidt is looking to break free of the clinch but Esperanza has double underhooks.
Esperanza throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Schmidt blocks it with crossed arms.

Schmidt turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Schmidt throws an elbow but Esperanza slips to the side and avoids it well.

Schmidt stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Schmidt swings away with a body shot that misses
and Esperanza counters with an outside leg kick.
Esperanza tries to clinch up.
Schmidt throws a big shot that misses.
Adam Schmidt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Esperanza clinches.
Esperanza tries to land knees in the clinch but Schmidt avoids the damage to the body.
Schmidt lands a body shot in the clinch.
Esperanza is pressed up against the cage. Schmidt has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Esperanza down to the mat. Esperanza avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Esperanza wants to clinch but Schmidt slips to the side

and Schmidt counters with a crisp one two that drops Esperanza! Schmidt thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Esperanza to his feet! Esperanza is in big trouble!
Schmidt throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Esperanza stumbling backwards into the cage! Esperanza bounces back off the cage towards Schmidt, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Schmidt lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Schmidt celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Adam Schmidt!
