Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Hanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Steele might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to whiskey in the jar. Hanner is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: What Would You Do?. Rex Steele has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rex Steele! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Hanner! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jonathan Paton and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steele misses with the combination.
Steele scores with a jab to the head.
Steele throws the left hand but Hanner avoids the punch easily. Steele shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hanner but Hanner pushes him off and we're back to square one. Steele lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Steele steps into range and cracks Hanner with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Hanner flops backwards and Steele dives into his guard looking to finish!
Hanner is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Steele landing with the ground and pound. Steele wants to stand but Hanner is controlling his posture from full guard. Steele knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hanner on the ground. Hanner should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Hanner throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Steele stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's one minute gone in the round. Steele tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hanner was well out of range. Poor timing from Steele. Nice defenses there by Hanner. A bone on bone clash there as Hanner blocks the leg kick.
Rex Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steele misses with the combination.
Steele swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Steele does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Steele throws a right and a left that Hanner avoids nicely. A bone on bone clash there as Hanner blocks the leg kick.
Hanner walks into a straight right hand from Steele. Steele looks to land a combination but Hanner avoids it well. Steele tries to bum rush Hanner with a series of wild strikes but Hanner uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hanner circles away from the clinch attempt.

Hanner ducks right into an uppercut from Steele.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hanner slips a jab from Steele. Steele misses with an uppercut. Hanner saw that one coming. Hanner keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Steele. Steele throws a big shot that misses. A slow jab from Steele misses its intended target. Steele throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A swing and a miss from Steele. Steele tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hanner paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hanner looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Steele is fending him off so far but Hanner persists. Nope, Steele circles away and we're back to standing. Steele jabbing away but nothing is landing. Steele doesn't manage to clinch there - Hanner circles away.
Steele drops Hanner with a right and a left! Steele comes rushing in but Hanner regains his composure and manages to keep Steele in guard.
Hanner is still in real trouble! Can Steele finish him?
It looks like Joe Hanner has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Steele wants to stand but Hanner has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Hanner lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Steele! Hanner seems to have recovered his senses. Steele on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Steele tries to get out of the position. Steele is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hanner scoring with strikes but Steele is staying in there. A nice elbow there by Hanner. Hanner landing strikes from the mount. Hanner raining down shots from the mount! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hanner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Steele is looking to get to half guard. Hanner landing strikes, looking to finish! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! A nice elbow there by Hanner. Hanner dominating with strikes here. Steele trying desperately to get to his feet.
Hanner looking to finish Steele with some ground and pound. This is bad for Steele! Hanner with the ground and pound from mount. Hanner cracks Steele with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hanner landing strikes from the mount and Steele is in trouble! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You get the feeling that Steele really doesn't like being in this position too much.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hanner scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Steele?

Hanner lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Steele defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hanner. Steele trying desperately to get to his feet.

Steele really wants to buck Hanner off and get back to his feet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hanner with a couple of short strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hanner lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Steele hang on? Hanner pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rex Steele dominated that round. The cut man is working on Joe Hanner's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Steele fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hanner looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Steele scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Steele looks to land a right hand but Hanner moved out of range. Steele steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Hanner is out on his feet! Steele sets himself and nearly takes Hanner's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rex Steele!
