Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tomas Rios! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rios looks to score with a jab to the body but Rage is just out of range. A punch combination from Rios misses. Tomas Rios seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rage scores with a takedown into Rios's guard. Rage slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Rage seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rios for as long as he can get away with. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rios wants to stand but Rage is controlling the position. Rage advances to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rage scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Rage lands strikes from half guard. Rios is trying to get back to full guard. Rage performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Rage has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rage thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Rage controlling the pace. Rios is trying to stand.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sub Rage just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Rios tries to bum rush Rage with a series of wild strikes but Rage uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Rage looks to score with a jab to the body but Rios is just out of range. Rage looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Rage content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Rios wants to get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rage seems to be working for a kimura but Rios defends the submission attempt. Rage slows the pace down in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rage really is a fat lump. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Sub Rage just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Rios displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Rage blocks a head kick by Rios.
Rios throws a chopping leg kick but Rage manages to avoid taking any serious damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rios tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rage paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rage blocks a head kick by Rios.
Rios is looking to clinch. Rage takes a swing at Rios's ribcage but misses. Rage drives through with a takedown into guard. Rage stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rios swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rage looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Rios is breathing heavily. Rage pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rios is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rage controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Rios wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Rage manages to pass to side control. Rage sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Sub Rage just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Some wild striking there from Rios.
Rios doesn't manage to clinch there - Rage circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rage closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Rios is being controlled here. Rage has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Rage's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Rage is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Rios working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rage. Sub Rage overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rage landing some decent shots from guard. Rage slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Rage with a nice head shot there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sub Rage dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Rage shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rios manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Rage trying to control but Rios is working from the bottom. Rage controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Rage tries to free his leg and advance position but Rios is retaining full guard. Rage is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Rage wants to control from the top but Rios keeps moving. Rios takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rios is looking to stand up but Rage isn't so interested in that idea. Rage is stalling in the full guard. Rage might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That could mean trouble for Rios! Rage controlling his opponent. Rios is controlling an arm, preventing Rage from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

And that's the end of the fight! Sub Rage showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rage, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
