Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Reyes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ivan Husten! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Husten misses with a body shot.
A nice leg kick lands there from Reyes. Husten moves away from the strike by Reyes. Husten throws a lazy right hand but Reyes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Decent striking displayed by Reyes there. Husten is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Reyes. Reyes takes the fight into the clinch. Reyes putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Husten in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Husten looks gassed! This has been an exciting period of action! Reyes lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Reyes obliges. Reyes digs a right hand underneath Husten's ribcage. Husten let out a lung full of air as it connected. Reyes pushes Husten back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Knees in the clinch landing for Reyes.
Reyes connects with a nasty looking knee right to Husten's face.
It looks like Ivan Husten has been cut. Reyes lands a hook that snaps the head of Husten backwards. Reyes landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Reyes throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Reyes utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Reyes has Husten pushed against the cage. Reyes working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. A right hook to the body lands for Reyes.
Reyes lands with a light punch inside. Reyes stalling.
Reyes lands an elbow inside. A right hand to the body from Reyes.
Reyes is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reyes lands an elbow inside that Husten shrugs off. Reyes lands a nice elbow.
Husten is rocked! Reyes lands a shoulder strike. Husten is still on wobbly legs! Can Reyes finish him? Reyes lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Husten wants to break the clinch but can't.
A nice left hand lands by Reyes.
A right handed body shot lands from Reyes.
Reyes putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Husten in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Reyes lands a left hand.
Reyes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Reyes connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Husten tumbling to the canvas! Reyes pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Husten was done - good stoppage!
