Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cat Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cat Dog!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dog somewhat.

Dog pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Jones goes for a takedown attempt but Dog pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jones tries for a takedown but Dog circles away easily
and Dog counters with a nice kick to the body.
Dog tries to clinch up.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Dog has eaten all the pies!

Dog bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dog stands up.
Jones is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Dog counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jones!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dog sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dog pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones working to try and regain half guard.
Dog trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Jones is bucking up trying to escape but Dog cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Dog prevents Jones from getting the reversal.
Dog can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.
Dog has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jones keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dog takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jones is squirming around, avoiding Dog's attempts to control the action.
Dog blocks Jones's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Jones trying desperately to get to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dog controlling from mount.

Despite being in the dominant position, Cat Dog just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dog drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dog trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dog forces his way into half guard.
Jones is trying to get back to full guard.
Dog moves nicely into side control.
Dog is staying tight to Jones's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dog's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Dog works to advance to full mount. Jones defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Jones tries to lock up and control but Dog gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Dog controlling the pace for now.
Dog tries to control but Jones wriggling away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones wants to hold on but Dog pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cat Dog dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jones scores with the left hand. Dog knows he should have avoided that one.
Dog fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dog tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
Dog looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jones throws a lazy right hand but Dog sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jones shoots and misses

and Dog counters by clinching up.
Jones is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dog pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Jones has had enough of the clinch but Dog keeps him there for the moment.
Jones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dog pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A chopping leg kick lands by Dog.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dog throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Dog finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jones working for submissions but it's allowed Dog to get to half guard.

Dog perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Dog seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Dog is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position.
Jones regains full guard. Nicely done.

Dog drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dog jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jones keeping full guard, as Dog tries to pass.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dog's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dog kicks Jones off and gets back to his feet.
Jones misses with a looping left.
Horrible takedown by Dog or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.
Dog tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.

Dog tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dog stops a takedown attempt from Jones.

Dog jumps guard and drags Jones to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dog is on top in guard.

Dog is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him.

Jones kicks Dog off and gets to his feet.
Jones thows a body shot but no joy.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Dog counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dog drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Dog off! Dog jumps back into Jones's guard.

Jones uses the cage to get back to his feet.
John Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dog swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones throws a good cross that connects.
Jones misses with a looping left.
Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dog counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cat Dog showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Dog shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Dog's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jones lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Cat Dog has been cut.

and Dog counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dog.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dog stops Jones from standing up.
Dog controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Dog trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Jones manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Jones stands up over Dog, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dog on the ground.
Dog is trying to keep Jones in close.
Dog is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Dog shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Dog is standing up over Jones. Jones looks to escape but Dog dives into side control.
Dog controls the position.
Dog wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy.
Jones tries to buck Dog off but Dog is having none of it.

Jones misses with a strike from the bottom.
Dog is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dog tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dog somewhat.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dog looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dog avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Jones.
Jones wants to stand but Dog has his arm trapped.
Jones is looking to take a break and control but Dog is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dog wants to control but Jones postures up.
John Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Jones lands a nice forearm strike.
Jones throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Dog works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Dog trying to hold on to Jones's head to control him but Jones postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dog closes the distance and clinches.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jones throws a lazy head kick

and Dog holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Dog breaks the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jones gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Cat Dog.
I've got Dog winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
