Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vic Lester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackie Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Day is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Hammerfall - At the End of the Rainbow. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vic Lester! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackie Day! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.

He's pushed Day's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Day wants to clinch. Day is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Lester tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Day holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Day content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Lester is looking to break free of the clinch but Day has double underhooks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Day lands a body shot in the clinch.
Day blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Day won't allow Lester to sweep him here.
Lester is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Day is aware though and is defending well. Day tries to free his leg and advance position but Lester is retaining full guard. Day throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lester works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Day controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Day pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lester is keeping the position for now. Lester utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Day is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lester is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lester has escaped and now he's on top! Day looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lester is one step ahead there.

Lester drops back, looking for a kneebar! Day looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Day looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Day! Day throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Lester works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Lester tries to kick Day off but Day keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lester keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Vic Lester will probably get the nod. That's time! Lester's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Lester scores with the left hand. Day knows he should have avoided that one. Day tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Lester moves into the clinch. Day slowing the pace effectively.
Day drags the fight down to the ground.
Day is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Lester trying to control but Day is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lester prevents Day from getting back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lester throws a strike but Day rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lester wants to sweep but no luck. Day must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lester is trying to keep Day in close.

and Lester counters with a takedown into side control. Day keeps Lester under control for a moment. Day struggling a bit here. Lester trying to control the position but Day is working away.

Day is staying active underneath Lester, who seems content to just control the action from this position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Day can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lester is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Day defends it well.

Day has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lester finds it's way round the side to connect with Day's head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Day is looking to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vic Lester dominated that second round. That's time! Lester's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Lester swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Day. Lester tries to clinch but Day moves away
and Day counters by clinching up. Day tries for a takedown. No joy.
Day works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Lester is pressed up against the cage. Day has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lester down to the mat. Lester avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Day throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lester counters with a lovely straight right hand! Lester closes the distance but Day moves to the side
and Day counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Day is struggling to control the position. Lester working hard to break the clinch.

Day has picked Lester up - he's going for a ride! Day dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Lester gets back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lester wants to sweep here but Day controlling him for the moment. Lester trying to keep a closed guard but Day is proving a slippery customer.
Lester working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Day. Day really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lester. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Day lying in Lester's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Lester decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Day taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
