Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jun Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rumina Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumina Sato has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jun Kimura's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jun Kimura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rumina Sato!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sato is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sato shoots in but Kimura avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Sato shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sato showed some decent athleticism there.
Sato wants to pass to mount but Kimura is defending the position.
Kimura has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sato is working away from the top position though.
Sato wants to free his trapped foot but Kimura is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Kimura gets back to full guard.
Sato slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Sato sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kimura's guard.

Sato is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kimura sees it coming and defends easily.
Sato seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kimura does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sato shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jun Kimura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rumina Sato.

Sato tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kimura is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Sato defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Kimura is trying to stick to Sato's back but Sato is turning into Kimura. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Kimura's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sato.
Kimura wants to hit a switch here but Sato passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kimura there!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Sato fails to take his opponent's back.
Kimura is trying to escape the mount.
Kimura is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Sato swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kimura is now in Sato's guard. A big mistake from Sato there, giving up the dominant position!
Sato looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kimura is one step ahead there.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Kimura postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sato is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kimura stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sato swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jun Kimura dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

and Kimura decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sato's guard.
Jun Kimura overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kimura passes Sato's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Well, if Kimura is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Kimura looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kimura prevents Sato from improving his position.
Kimura frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Sato is trying to reverse the position but instead Kimura has taken his back - oops!
Kimura has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Sato's body.

Kimura has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Sato is defending well but eventually Kimura manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Sato has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jun Kimura!
