Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gino Corona!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corona tries to score a power double leg takedown but Batista sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Corona somewhat.

Batista shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Batista showed some decent athleticism there.

Batista is nestled in close to Corona, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Batista uses his free foot to push down on Corona's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Corona.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Batista cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Batista tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Corona is trying desperately to improve position.

Dave Batista is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Batista breaks from Corona's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Batista has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Batista lands a big shot there that rocks Corona but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Batista, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
