Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tijs Verwest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takahashi Sinjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takahashi Sinjo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tijs Verwest! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Takahashi Sinjo! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sinjo scores a takedown into full mount! Sinjo avoids the attempt from Verwest to control. Sinjo has hold of Verwest's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Verwest manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Verwest is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Verwest is looking to improve his position but Sinjo isn't that keen on the idea. Sinjo looking for a guillotine from mount but Verwest is having none of it. Verwest wants to hold on but Sinjo pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sinjo connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Verwest can't escape the position.

Verwest is rocked! Verwest tries to get back to half guard but can't. Oh Verwest is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Verwest really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Sinjo stands up from mount. Strange move. Sinjo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Sinjo trying to control the position from guard on top but Verwest is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Verwest looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Verwest seems to have got his legs back now. Sinjo works over Verwest with some ground and pound from guard. Sinjo looking to pass the guard. Verwest is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sinjo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Verwest is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Sinjo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Sinjo looking to sit in guard and control but Verwest gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Sinjo is looking to stand up but Verwest isn't so interested in that idea. Sinjo wants to sweep here but Verwest controlling him for the moment. Verwest connects with a couple of short punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sinjo has his foot on Verwest's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Verwest works his way back into a safe position though. Sinjo throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Verwest looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Sinjo looking for a guillotine here but Verwest defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sinjo has an active guard here but Verwest has managed to pass into half guard.
Sinjo tries to roll over but Verwest keeps him under control. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Sinjo looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Sinjo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Verwest. Verwest thows a huge punch but Sinjo dodges it nicely.
Sinjo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Verwest performing his best blanket impression for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Takahashi Sinjo dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Verwest throws a series of strikes that have Sinjo backpedaling.
Sinjo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Verwest sprawls well. Verwest wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sinjo gets slowly back to his feet. Verwest has his takedown stuffed and Sinjo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sinjo. Verwest looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sinjo is one step ahead there. Sinjo scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Sinjo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Sinjo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Verwest's half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sinjo wants to pass to mount but Verwest is defending the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sinjo passes the guard and advances to mount! Verwest is in all sorts of trouble here.
BOOM! Sinjo connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sinjo working for a guillotine from mount but Verwest is in no mood to give up. Sinjo dominating with strikes here. Sinjo looking to control but Verwest is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Verwest is looking to get to half guard. Sinjo forces the positional change into back control. Sinjo is landing with strikes from the back. I really don't envy Verwest right now.
Sinjo is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Verwest tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Verwest in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sinjo is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Sinjo extends the arm and Verwest is forced to tap!
