Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cole Trickle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cole Trickle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcos Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trickle shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Griffin defends it nicely.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cole Trickle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Griffin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Trickle. That did some damage!

Griffin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Trickle to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Griffin wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Griffin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Griffin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Griffin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Trickle is one step ahead there.
Trickle pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Griffin is keeping the position for now.

Griffin striking off his back but it's not causing Trickle any problems.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Griffin connects with a looping right hand.
Nice sprawl there from Griffin as Trickle shoots in.

Trickle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Trickle is breathing heavily.
Griffin is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Griffin has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Trickle off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Good exchange - Trickle coming out on top.

Trickle takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Trickle shoots for a double leg takedown but Griffin sprawls well. He's pushed Trickle's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Trickle is trying hard to land a takedown here. Griffin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Trickle bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Griffin is trying to get back to half guard.
Trickle throws a strike aimed at the side of Griffin's head but Griffin avoids it well.
The strikes coming from Trickle are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Griffin is trying to improve his position.
Trickle is looking to take a break and control but Griffin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Griffin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Trickle throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

Trickle tries to move into full mount but can't pass Griffin's legs.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Griffin gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Trickle works his way to full guard. Good work.
Griffin cracks Trickle with a solid left hand.
Trickle manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Griffin wants to hold on but Trickle pushes him away.
Griffin regains half guard.
Griffin is staying active underneath Trickle, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Griffin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Trickle is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Trickle missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Griffin is on top in guard.
Trickle is trying to control the position but Griffin postures up.
Trickle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Griffin.
Griffin scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Trickle is trying to control the position but Griffin postures up.
Trickle doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Trickle looking for a guillotine here but Griffin defends easily.
Griffin sitting in guard, not really doing much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcos Griffin dominated that round.
That's time! Trickle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Danga de danga de dang - Griffin scores with a four punch combination!


It looks like Cole Trickle has been cut.
Trickle misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Griffin scores with a jab to the body.

Griffin feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Trickle sprawling to the canvas! Trickle rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Griffin finish him?!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Griffin closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Trickle out cold! Trickle corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Marcos Griffin!
