Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucius Spartan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Helm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lucius Spartan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mick Helm!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spartan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Helm looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Spartan tries to clinch there but Helm circles away.

Spartan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Spartan is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Spartan prevents Helm from improving his position.
Spartan sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Helm defending well though.

Spartan stands up out of the half guard.
Spartan lands a right hook to the body.

Spartan moves into the clinch successfully.
Spartan gets underhooks to prevent Helm's takedown attempt.

Spartan is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Helm can't fight it off and eventually Spartan manages to take the fight to the floor. Helm looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Spartan trying to control but Helm is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Spartan wants to stand but Helm is controlling his posture from full guard.
Spartan tries to free his leg and advance position but Helm is retaining full guard.

Helm is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Spartan defends well.
Helm keeping moving, preventing Spartan from controlling successfully.
Spartan is really struggling to control Helm but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Spartan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Helm on the ground.

Helm looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Helm with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Spartan to score with a decent uppercut.

Spartan feints and as Helm raises his hands in defense, Spartan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Spartan wants to control from the top but Helm keeps moving.
Spartan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Spartan distracts Helm with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Helm is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Helm should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Helm tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Helm working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Spartan.
Spartan wants to stand but Helm has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Spartan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Spartan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Helm for as long as he can get away with.

Helm looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Spartan trying to control but Helm is working from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Spartan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Spartan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Helm is not content to let Spartan control the position.
Helm sneaks back into half guard.
Helm is trying to stand back up but Spartan is controlling him
Helm is looking for a sweep. Spartan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Helm on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucius Spartan dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Helm shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Spartan as he jumps to the side.
Mick Helm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spartan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Helm circles away.
Spartan fails to land the takedown.
Helm misses with a takedown attempt - Spartan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
No luck for Spartan with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucius Spartan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Spartan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Helm to the mat! Helm manages to get full guard.

Helm is looking for a triangle but Spartan pushes his legs off easily.

Helm is looking to sinch up a triangle. Spartan throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Helm's body to avoid the submission. Helm has instead reached around Spartan's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Helm arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Mick Helm!
