PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gregory House (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergeant Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slaughter has chosen Ladies and Gentlemen as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gregory House!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sergeant Slaughter!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slaughter misses with a few strikes there.
Slaughter connects with a body shot.
Slaughter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
House tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Slaughter swivels and escapes.
House misses the shot to the body.
House slips under a jab from Slaughter.
Slaughter throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Slaughter fails in his attempt to clinch.
Slaughter tries to clinch but House is having none of it.
House ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

House shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Slaughter throws a hook to the side of House's head but House sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Slaughter lands a right hook to the body.
House throws a low kick, looking for Slaughter's leg but Slaughter calmly moves out of range.
Slaughter missing with a left hand there. House was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Slaughter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by House.
Slaughter waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract House.
Slaughter tries to close the distance and clinch up but House swats him away and circles back towards the center.
House slips a jab from Slaughter.

House throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Slaughter was covering up waiting for the punch and House finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Slaughter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Slaughter can do anything to dispel that myth.

House drops back looking for a leg! Slaughter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Slaughter manages to kick House off! House jumps back into Slaughter's guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

No joy there for Slaughter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and House counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Slaughter!

House is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Slaughter is surviving well by controlling House's body position as best he can.

House has control of Slaughter's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Slaughter regains control of the situation pretty easily.
House prevents Slaughter from getting the reversal.

House working for a guillotine from mount but Slaughter is in no mood to give up.

House is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Slaughter is surviving well by controlling House's body position as best he can.

That was a close round but I would say that Gregory House will probably get the nod.

and House counters with a shoot takedown. Slaughter fights it but they end up in guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Slaughter holds on and takes a little breather.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

House is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Slaughter knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Slaughter can't escape the position.

House moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Slaughter has worked his arm free - good work by Slaughter!
Slaughter tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Slaughter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with House. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
House has knee on belly and moves into mount.

House has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

House looking to secure an arm triangle but Slaughter defends it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
House seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Slaughter is holding on tight.

House seems to be looking for submissions.
Slaughter makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Slaughter.
Slaughter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Slaughter throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Slaughter takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Gregory House dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Slaughter doesn't manage to clinch there - House circles away.

House shoots in looking for a takedown. Slaughter tries to sprawl out of it but House keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Slaughter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Slaughter throws a hook but House avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slaughter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Slaughter drops House with a left right combo! Slaughter follows him down to the ground into side control.


House is rocked!

Slaughter content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
House trying to control but Slaughter flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Slaughter tries to get the hooks in deep but House pushed the leg off.
Gregory House overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Slaughter lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Oh House is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

A big strike lands for Slaughter! That's really hurt House and he's turned his back - Slaughter keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Slaughter Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sergeant Slaughter!
