Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Dirst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Rain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rain is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Alter Bridge - Metalingus. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Rain!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rain throws a sloppy head kick and Dirst moves out of range easily.
Rain misses with a two punch combination.
Rain takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Dirst connects with a body shot.
Dirst scores with a hook.


It looks like Ryan Rain has been cut.

Dirst shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dirst seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rain for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dirst postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Rain is looking for a sweep. Dirst is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dirst seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rain does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dirst cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Rain slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dirst is nestled in close to Rain, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rain is trying to maintain the position but Dirst is very close to passing his half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dirst connects with a nice short shot to Rain's temple.

Dirst is pressed up against the cage. Rain has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dirst down to the mat. Dirst avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
