The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murray gets a takedown into half guard. Murray throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Jackson is doing well to control the position and prevent Murray from advancing to side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson wants to control but Murray is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Murray is staying active underneath Jackson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Murray won't allow Jackson to pass to mount.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Murray tries for a takedown but Jackson circles away easily and Jackson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Murray! Murray wants to hold on but Jackson pushes him away. Jackson controlling the pace for now. Jackson trying to control but he's not successful this time. Jackson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
