PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borg Hanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Borg Hanson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Borg Hanson!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Sakuraba seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hanson can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hanson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Sakuraba shoots in looking for a takedown. Hanson tries to sprawl out of it but Sakuraba keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hanson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hanson throws a series of strikes that have Sakuraba backpedaling.
Hanson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sakuraba backs up against the cage.
Sakuraba shoots in for a double leg but Hanson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Hanson connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Sakuraba! He's out on his feet! Hanson rushes in and drops Sakuraba with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
