Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kalevi Kostaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Powertseski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kostaja comes to the cage accompanied by SMC Hoodrats. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Roman Powertseski! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kostaja throws a front kick aimed at Powertseski's knee but Powertseski avoids it well. Kostaja looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Powertseski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Powertseski shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Powertseski was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kostaja taking shots to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kostaja is working to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Powertseski pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Kostaja tries to reverse the position but Powertseski maintains control. Powertseski with the ground and pound from mount. Powertseski takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kostaja on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kostaja tries to get out of the position. That's four minutes gone in the round. Kostaja really wants to buck Powertseski off and get back to his feet. Powertseski lands a big elbow. Kostaja bucks up and throws Powertseski to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape! Kostaja is breathing heavily. Powertseski lands with a nice combination. Kostaja backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Kalevi Kostaja has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kostaja swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
so Powertseski counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kostaja is working an open guard so Powertseski takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Powertseski scores a takedown into full mount! Powertseski content just to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roman Powertseski dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kalevi Kostaja's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kostaja thows a leg kick but Powertseski checks it and Powertseski decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kostaja's guard. Kostaja trying to control the position.
Kostaja is wriggling around but Powertseski manages to pass to half guard.
Powertseski is taking a breather. Kostaja says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Roman Powertseski has got the better of the ground game so far. Powertseski decides to return to a standing position. Kostaja throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Powertseski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kostaja avoids it really well and circles away. A low kick from Kostaja misses and Powertseski counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice strikes from Powertseski there. Kostaja is refusing to be controlled, as Powertseski sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kostaja has one foot on Powertseski's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Kostaja swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Powertseski counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Powertseski. Powertseski throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Powertseski tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kostaja just stands there and leans against the cage. Powertseski escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kostaja misses with an uppercut. Powertseski saw that one coming. Powertseski shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Powertseski tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kostaja is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Powertseski wants to control the pace but Kostaja is squirming around nicely.

Powertseski fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kostaja takes a swing at Powertseski's ribcage but misses. Kostaja throws a looping overhand right but Powertseski ducks down to avoid it. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Powertseski is defended easily by Kostaja. Kostaja getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
It looks like Roman Powertseski has been cut. Powertseski slips a jab from Kostaja. Kostaja avoids a kick to the body.
Powertseski shoots in but Kostaja avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kalevi Kostaja has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roman Powertseski. Kostaja connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Powertseski's hands. Kostaja falls off balance throwing a combination
and Powertseski counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kostaja's guard now.

Powertseski is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Powertseski wants to stand but Kostaja has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Kostaja wants to get back to his feet but Powertseski is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Powertseski stands up from Kostaja's guard - Powertseski perhaps looking for a knockout. Powertseski scores a takedown into full mount! Kostaja takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kostaja is looking to improve his position but Powertseski isn't that keen on the idea. Powertseski can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kostaja is looking to escape. Powertseski looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Kostaja is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Powertseski controlling from the full mount. Kostaja wants to get back to his feet.
Powertseski with a couple of short strikes. Kalevi Kostaja has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Powertseski wants to control the pace but Kostaja is squirming around nicely. You get the feeling that Kostaja really doesn't like being in this position too much.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Powertseski wants to control the pace but Kostaja is squirming around nicely. Roman Powertseski is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Powertseski is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Roman Powertseski comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Powertseski winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
