Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between David Vo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nelson Jodoin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, David Vo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nelson Jodoin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vo shoots in for a takedown but Jodoin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Vo tries to clinch but Jodoin moves out of range.

Jodoin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Jodoin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Jodoin controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vo is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Jodoin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vo, who protects the arm well.
Vo tries to improve position but can't.
Jodoin content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Vo is looking for a sweep.

Vo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jodoin off and has taken his back!
Vo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Vo doesn't have the hooks in and Jodoin manages to turn into his guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Jodoin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jodoin.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jodoin controlling from the top position.

Vo is looking for a triangle but Jodoin pushes his legs off easily.
Jodoin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Vo keeping moving, preventing Jodoin from controlling successfully.
Jodoin is pushing down on Vo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Vo is fighting to maintain full guard but Jodoin has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jodoin is trying to work for a kimura but Vo is defending well.
Jodoin is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Vo is breathing heavily.
Vo is in trouble now - Jodoin has advanced to mount!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Jodoin has control of Vo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Vo regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Jodoin takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Nelson Jodoin dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Vo digs a good body shot into Jodoin's ribs.

and Jodoin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Vo closes the distance but Jodoin moves to the side

and Jodoin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vo won't be happy with that.
Vo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jodoin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Jodoin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Vo gets back to half guard.

Vo actively working from the bottom here.

Jodoin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Vo looking for subs from the bottom but Jodoin mounts him!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jodoin looking to control and managing it successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jodoin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Vo has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Jodoin prevents Vo from getting the reversal.
Jodoin controlling the pace for now.
Jodoin tries to control but Vo wriggling away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jodoin moves to back control.
I would not like to be Vo right now.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Jodoin's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Vo is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Vo manages to reverse the position and now he's in Jodoin's guard. Nice work there by Vo.
Jodoin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jodoin wants to sweep here but Vo controlling him for the moment.
Jodoin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jodoin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Vo drops back looking for a leg! Jodoin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jodoin manages to kick Vo off! Vo jumps back into Jodoin's guard.

Vo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jodoin looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jodoin looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jodoin!

Jodoin in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Jodoin is trying to get an arm triangle but Vo is defending well.
Jodoin trying to control the position but Vo is working away.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Despite being in the dominant position, Nelson Jodoin just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vo closes the distance looking to clinch

and Jodoin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Nelson Jodoin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Jodoin is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Jodoin extends the arm and Vo is forced to tap!
