Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew Sackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robin Padilla!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padilla circles away from the clinch attempt.

Sackson gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Padilla wants to get back to his feet.

Sackson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Padilla defends it well.
Padilla really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Padilla looks like he's trying to stand up.

Sackson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Padilla is just riding it out for now. Sackson eventually gives up the hold.

Sackson seems to be working for a kimura but Padilla defends the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Padilla tries to kick Sackson off but Sackson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Sackson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Sackson prevents Padilla from standing back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Padilla can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sackson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Padilla pushes Sackson off looking to stand but Sackson dives back in and keeps control.

Sackson is trying for a kimura here. Padilla looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Sackson wins by kimura!
