Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brett Assman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Eduardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brett Assman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Eduardo!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eduardo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Assman is looking to reverse the position.

Eduardo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Assman, who protects the arm well.
Assman is not content to let Eduardo control the position.
Assman is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Eduardo is controlling him well.
A lull in the action here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Eduardo lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Assman down.
Assman takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Assman wants to control but Eduardo postures up.
Assman manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Assman is trying to stand up here but Eduardo is controlling him well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Eduardo in particular looking to stall.

Eduardo is trying to work for a kimura but Assman is defending well.
Eduardo slows the pace down in half guard.
Assman wants to improve his position but Eduardo is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Eduardo blocks the strikes from Assman.
Eduardo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Assman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Assman missing with punches from the bottom.
Assman throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Eduardo takes one on the button.

Eduardo closes the distance and clinches.

Eduardo is trying to trip Assman. He has hold of a leg but Assman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Eduardo persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Eduardo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Assman's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eduardo stays in close to Assman's body and controls the position.
Assman is breathing heavily.
Eduardo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Assman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carl Eduardo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Eduardo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Assman is trying to defend but Eduardo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Assman is trying to maintain the position but Eduardo is very close to passing his half guard.
Eduardo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Let's hope that Eduardo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Assman regains full guard. Nicely done.
Eduardo trying to control the position from guard on top but Assman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Assman is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Assman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Eduardo controls the pace.
Eduardo wants to control from the top but Assman keeps moving.
Eduardo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Eduardo's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Despite being in the dominant position, Carl Eduardo just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Eduardo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Assman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Eduardo lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Assman down.
Eduardo passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Assman!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Eduardo throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Assman has his hands clasped together but Eduardo breaks the hold and Assman is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Eduardo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Carl Eduardo!
