Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Surman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeff Surman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vitor Belfort! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Belfort misses. Surman is looking to clinch but Belfort is avoiding it.
A combination from Belfort does no damage. Belfort defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Surman. Belfort tries to bum rush Surman with a series of wild strikes but Surman uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Surman lands a slapping body shot.
Surman shoots in for a double leg but Belfort sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Belfort swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Surman. Belfort misses with a few strikes there.
Belfort misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Surman dives in and grabs Belfort's left leg, looking for a takedown. Belfort pushes down on Surman's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff Surman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Surman is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Surman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Surman drops back looking for a leg! Belfort is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Belfort manages to kick Surman off! Surman jumps back into Belfort's guard. Surman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Surman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belfort keeping moving, preventing Surman from controlling successfully. Surman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Belfort is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Surman, into his guard. Surman is breathing heavily. Surman has a closed guard, preventing Belfort from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Surman looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Surman is trying to control the position but Belfort postures up. Belfort stands and steps away. Surman gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Vitor Belfort seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Surman shoots for a double leg takedown but Belfort sprawls well. He's pushed Surman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Belfort looks to land a combination but Surman avoids it well. Surman with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Belfort to score with a decent uppercut. Surman fails in his attempt to clinch. Belfort connects with a superb combination that knocks Surman out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Belfort before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Surman!
