Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Skip Tumilue! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dario Nitiguchi! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tumilue closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Tumilue controlling the action here. Nitiguchi keeps control of the position for the meantime. Tumilue tries to pass to full mount but Nitiguchi defends it. Nitiguchi is trying to stand back up but Tumilue is controlling him
Tumilue not landing any meaningful shots this time. Tumilue wants to pass to mount but Nitiguchi is defending the position. Nitiguchi wants to control but Tumilue is keeping busy and won't allow it. Tumilue prevents Nitiguchi from improving his position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nitiguchi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Tumilue counters with a takedown into side control. Nitiguchi looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Tumilue has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Nitiguchi! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nitiguchi is squirming around, avoiding Tumilue's attempts to control the action. Nitiguchi squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Tumilue tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Tumilue lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Tumilue trying to control but Nitiguchi is having none of it. Tumilue pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Tumilue working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Tumilue get's back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nitiguchi blocks a head kick by Tumilue.
Tumilue is looking to clinch but Nitiguchi is avoiding it.
Tumilue tries for a takedown but Nitiguchi circles away easily and Nitiguchi counters by clinching up. Tumilue pressing his opponent against the cage. Nitiguchi drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tumilue drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Nitiguchi gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Tumilue is trying to control the position but Nitiguchi postures up. Tumilue looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Tumilue wants to sweep here but Nitiguchi controlling him for the moment. Tumilue manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Tumilue content just to control the position here. Tumilue breaks from Nitiguchi's wrist control and lands an elbow. Tumilue punishing his opponent with strikes. Tumilue pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Tumilue wants to control the pace but Nitiguchi is squirming around nicely. Nitiguchi is in a horrible position here. Tumilue smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tumilue trying to control but Nitiguchi is having none of it. Tumilue lands with some strikes. Tumilue works his way to his opponent's back.
Tumilue controlling well, preventing Nitiguchi from escaping the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tumilue working for a choke but Nitiguchi is defending well. Nitiguchi trying to control the position but Tumilue manages to sink in the hooks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Skip Tumilue dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Nitiguchi doesn't succeed with the takedown and Tumilue counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Nitiguchi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tumilue can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Nitiguchi had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Tumilue is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nitiguchi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Tumilue's back instead. Nitiguchi keeps control of the position as Tumilue tries to break free.
Nitiguchi is trying to stick to Tumilue's back but Tumilue is turning into Nitiguchi. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Nitiguchi's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Tumilue. Tumilue looking to pass the guard. Tumilue gets to his feet - Nitiguchi follows without any prompting. Nitiguchi tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Tumilue counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nitiguchi is trying to control but Tumilue manages to pass to mount!
Nitiguchi's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Tumilue can't control as he wanted to and Nitiguchi manages to get the fight back to his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nitiguchi gets back to full guard.
Tumilue wants to control from the top but Nitiguchi keeps moving. Tumilue won't allow Nitiguchi to get back to his feet. Nitiguchi keeping moving, preventing Tumilue from controlling successfully. Nitiguchi wriggles free and stands up. Nitiguchi wants to clinch but Tumilue slips to the side and Tumilue counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nitiguchi's guard now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nitiguchi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tumilue is one step ahead there. Tumilue trying to control the position from guard on top but Nitiguchi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nitiguchi looking for a sweep. Not yet Nitiguchi, not yet. Tumilue stands up from guard. Let's bang! Nitiguchi fails in his attempt to clinch. Tumilue looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nitiguchi is refusing to be controlled, as Tumilue sits in half guard. Tumilue perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Nitiguchi kicks Tumilue off and gets back to his feet. Nitiguchi pushes Tumilue up against the cage in a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tumilue avoiding damage as Nitiguchi throws knees to the body.
Nitiguchi pulls guard. Tumilue won't allow Nitiguchi to sweep him here. Nitiguchi is looking to stand up but Tumilue isn't so interested in that idea. Nitiguchi wants to sweep here but Tumilue controlling him for the moment. Nitiguchi looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tumilue gets to his feet - Nitiguchi follows without any prompting. Nitiguchi is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Tumilue tries to clinch up. Nitiguchi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tumilue's waist but Tumilue gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nitiguchi off to one side. Tumilue gets a takedown into half guard. Tumilue wants to control but Nitiguchi is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nitiguchi keeps control of the position for the meantime. Tumilue stalling. Nitiguchi is looking to improve his position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tumilue is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Nitiguchi as he works his way to full guard.

Skip Tumilue dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Nitiguchi fails with the takedown and Tumilue counters with a takedown into side control. Tumilue thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Tumilue trying to control the position but Nitiguchi is working away. Tumilue is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nitiguchi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Nitiguchi seems a little lost for a moment, as Tumilue dominates the positioning. Tumilue decides to take the fight back to the feet. Skip Tumilue is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nitiguchi tries to keep at a distance but Tumilue has taken the fight into the clinch. Tumilue wants a takedown.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Nitiguchi is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nitiguchi goes for a takedown in the clinch but Tumilue prevents it.

Tumilue is trying to get back to full guard. Nitiguchi throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Tumilue is not content to let Nitiguchi control the position. Tumilue controlling the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nitiguchi is trying to control the action in half guard but Tumilue is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Tumilue trying to control here.
Tumilue looking for submissions off his back. Nitiguchi is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Tumilue has managed to free his arm - good work.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Tumilue closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Nitiguchi can't do much from the bottom here. Tumilue working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Nitiguchi wants to control but Tumilue postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nitiguchi is trying to keep from getting into a worse position than he's already in but Nitiguchi is working away and isn't letting himself get tied up. Nitiguchi manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Nitiguchi wants to improve his position but Tumilue is controlling well.

Nitiguchi tries to kick Tumilue off but Tumilue keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Nitiguchi is looking to control Tumilue's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nitiguchi avoid being mounted?
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nitiguchi wants to clinch but Tumilue slips to the side and Tumilue decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nitiguchi's guard. Tumilue wants to control from the top but Nitiguchi keeps moving. Tumilue stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tumilue fails with the takedown so Nitiguchi counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tumilue looking for a sweep. Not yet Tumilue, not yet. Tumilue utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Tumilue has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Nitiguchi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Tumilue. Tumilue is looking to reverse the position. Check out the look on Nitiguchi's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Dario Nitiguchi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nitiguchi creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Tumilue sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tumilue is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Tumilue is trying to stand up here but Nitiguchi is controlling him well. Tumilue is looking to improve his position.
Tumilue is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Nitiguchi pulls his head out easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Skip Tumilue showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tumilue, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
