The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaa scores a takedown into full mount!
volk is trying to escape the mount.
volk regains half guard.
Jaa passes the guard and advances to mount!
Jaa controlling the pace for now.
volk tries to get back to half guard but can't.
volk is in a horrible position here. Jaa smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

volk is trying to reverse the position but instead Jaa has taken his back - oops!
volk manages to reverse the position and now he's in Jaa's guard. Nice work there by volk.

volk tries to free his leg and advance position but Jaa is retaining full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jaa keeping moving, preventing volk from controlling successfully.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jaa closes this distance looking for a takedown but volk circles away.
volk closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Jaa moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Jaa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
volk changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jaa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
volk is looking to take a break and control but Jaa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jaa is trying to control volk's posture but volk avoids it.
Jaa tries to control the position but he's not in luck - volk easily slips into full mount!
volk has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jaa's face.

I would just about give that final round to g volk.
