Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Muhammad al Maktoum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Velasquez is nestled in close to al Maktoum, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Velasquez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Velasquez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in al Maktoum's guard.

al Maktoum throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Velasquez.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Velasquez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. al Maktoum swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Velasquez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Velasquez lands in his opponent's guard.

Velasquez connects with a right hand. al Maktoum shakes it off.
Velasquez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Velasquez misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Velasquez wants to lay and pray for a moment but al Maktoum keeps working.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Velasquez. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Velasquez winds up and cracks al Maktoum with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
al Maktoum has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Velasquez. Oh but al Maktoum has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Velasquez goes limp - he's gone! al Maktoum jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
