The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida tries to clinch there but Viana circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Viana is defended easily by Machida.
Viana is trying hard to land a takedown here. Machida sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Viana should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Viana shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Machida defends it nicely.
Lyoto Machida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leonardo Viana.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Viana is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Machida pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Viana can't get the takedown.
Machida jerks Viana's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Viana drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Machida goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Machida because Viana was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
