Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Vasconcelos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Roddick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vitor Vasconcelos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mauricio Roddick! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roddick tries a head kick but it misses.
Roddick fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vasconcelos. Roddick connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Vasconcelos swats away the attempt to clinch by Roddick. Nice takedown defense from Vasconcelos. No joy for Roddick on that attempt. Vasconcelos takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Roddick fails in his attempt to clinch. Roddick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Vasconcelos doesn't succeed with the takedown and Roddick counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Roddick with a poor takedown and Vasconcelos counters with a takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasconcelos is trying to get an arm triangle but Roddick is defending well. Roddick is looking for a sweep. Vasconcelos prevents Roddick from escaping the position. Vasconcelos is trying to get an arm triangle but Roddick is defending well. Vasconcelos is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Roddick has escaped the position, nice work there. Roddick tries to bench press Vasconcelos off him but Vasconcelos keeps the position. Roddick is not content to let Vasconcelos control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roddick misses with a strike from the bottom. Vasconcelos is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Roddick is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vasconcelos tries for a kimura but Roddick is defending well. Vasconcelos is breathing heavily. Roddick tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vasconcelos wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Roddick can't do much from the bottom here. Vasconcelos trying to control the action but Roddick is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasconcelos prevents Roddick from escaping the position. Vasconcelos tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Vasconcelos wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Roddick, who protects the arm well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roddick can do anything to dispel that myth. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Roddick is looking for a sweep. Vasconcelos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vasconcelos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Roddick is not content to let Vasconcelos control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vasconcelos tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Roddick is looking to reverse the position. Vasconcelos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vasconcelos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Vasconcelos is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Roddick is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vitor Vasconcelos dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
A punch combination from Roddick misses. Vasconcelos is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Roddick. Roddick throws a shot to the body.
Roddick fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vasconcelos. Roddick fails with the takedown and Vasconcelos counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Roddick not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Vasconcelos thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roddick is trying to control the position but Vasconcelos postures up. Vasconcelos is fighting to break Roddick's control of his arms but Roddick is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Vasconcelos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Vasconcelos trying to control but Roddick is working from the bottom. Vasconcelos throwing strikes but missing. Roddick is breathing heavily. Roddick has his foot on Vasconcelos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vasconcelos works his way back into a safe position though.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Vasconcelos with a poor takedown and Roddick connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Roddick darts in trying to clinch and Vasconcelos counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasconcelos uses his free foot to push down on Roddick's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Roddick. Roddick working to try and regain half guard.
Vasconcelos wants to take Roddick's back here but Roddick is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Roddick wants to control but Vasconcelos is having none of it. Vasconcelos takes Roddick's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Roddick is in trouble.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roddick defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Vasconcelos scores with punches to the body. Vasconcelos tries to get the hooks in deep but Roddick pushed the leg off. Roddick is in bad spot here.
Roddick trying to control the position but Vasconcelos manages to sink in the hooks. Roddick looking very determined here, making life difficult for Vasconcelos.
Vasconcelos has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Roddick! Can he survive? No! He's out! Vasconcelos gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Vitor Vasconcelos!
