Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Kalir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Kalir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Payne!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalir stuffs the takedown attempt from Payne. Payne gets slowly back to his feet.

Payne clinches.
Kalir is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Payne breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kalir looks for a takedown but Payne sprawls well.
Payne misses with a takedown

and Kalir decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Payne's guard.

Payne looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kalir trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Payne throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Kalir connects with a couple of short punches.
Kalir might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Payne is pushing Kalir's head away, looking to escape. Kalir manages to hold on to the position though.

Kalir thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kalir works to advance to full mount. Payne defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Kalir scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Kalir is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Payne can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Kalir won't let Payne get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Kalir goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Payne is on top in guard.

Kalir is trying to keep Payne in close.
Kalir doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Payne thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kalir is trying to control the position from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Payne doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kalir counters with a nice double leg into guard.
George Kalir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Payne.

Kalir drops back looking for a leg! Payne is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Payne manages to kick Kalir off! Kalir jumps back into Payne's guard.

Kalir got a little sloppy there for a moment and Payne has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kalir has managed to get both his arms back between Payne's legs - danger averted.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Payne tries to clinch up

and Kalir counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Payne really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kalir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

George Kalir overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kalir has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Payne's face.
Payne has given up his back here. Will Kalir look for the submission or keep pounding away?
Kalir is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Payne can do to turn this around?
Kalir lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Payne hold on?!
Kalir scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kalir scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Payne is looking for a way out.

Kalir has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Payne has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Payne is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kalir gets his way!

Kalir lands shots from the back.
Payne is trying to get back to his feet but Kalir has full control of the position and if anything, Payne has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Payne covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Kalir has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Payne wants to get back to his feet.

You can see the frustration on Payne's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Oooh a big shot gets through from Kalir. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
