The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
champion will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

champion clinches up with attack and pushes him back against the cage.

champion has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed attack clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

attack is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of champion's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take champion's back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

attack is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. champion doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time attack.
The fighters are battling for position here. champion manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

attack is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

attack thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

attack drops back looking for a leg! champion is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and champion manages to kick attack off! attack jumps back into champion's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that zac attack will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

No luck with that takedown attempt from champion.
champion looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? attack is fending him off so far but champion persists. Nope, attack circles away and we're back to standing.
dan champion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

attack closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

attack is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but champion is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
attack will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

attack is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. champion knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
