Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Gore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Andreas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodrigo Andreas is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Al Gore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Andreas!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gore throws a combination. Andreas tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Rodrigo Andreas has been cut.
Gore swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gore will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Andreas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gore as he jumps to the side.
Gore lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Andreas circles away quickly and effectively.
Andreas dodges the punch combination from Gore.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Andreas is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Gore looks to score with a jab to the body but Andreas is just out of range.
Gore could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
No luck for Andreas with that takedown attempt.
Gore throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Andreas.
Al Gore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Andreas dodges the punch combination from Gore.
Andreas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gore pinned against the cage. Gore gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Al Gore has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodrigo Andreas.
Gore rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Andreas moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Andreas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gore as he avoids it easily.
Andreas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gore's waist but Gore gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Andreas off to one side.

No joy there for Gore, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gore misses with a jab, cross combination.
Andreas slips a straight right by Gore.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Andreas.
Gore defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Andreas.
Gore stuns Andreas with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Gore throws a right and a left that Andreas avoids nicely.
Gore tries to bum rush Andreas with a series of wild strikes but Andreas uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gore misses with a wild combination.
Andreas has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Andreas there as he acknowledges the shot.

Gore misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gore lands a two punch combo.
Andreas uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gore.

Andreas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Andreas is working for a kimura but Gore is defending it quite comfortably.

Andreas is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gore defends it well.
Andreas is breathing heavily.

Gore is trying to stand back up but Andreas is controlling him

Andreas seems to be working for a kimura but Gore defends the submission attempt.
Gore knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Andreas on the ground.

Andreas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gore sees it coming and defends easily.

Andreas prevents Gore from standing back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Andreas is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Gore.


That has opened up Rodrigo Andreas's cut even more.
Gore scores with a crisp jab that stopped Andreas in his tracks.
Gore takes a swing at Andreas's ribcage but misses.
A jab from Gore finds it's way through Andreas's defenses.
Gore throws a left that rocks Andreas and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Gore dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Andreas regain composure!


The cut above Rodrigo Andreas's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gore tries to stand but Andreas is controlling his head.

Andreas tries to buck Gore off but Gore is having none of it.
Gore wants to stand but Andreas has his arm trapped.
Andreas tries to improve position but can't.
Gore wants to stand but Andreas is controlling his arm.
Andreas is looking to reverse the position.

Gore stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Gore lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Andreas circles away quickly and effectively.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gore lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Andreas closes the distance and clinches up with Gore, looking for a takedown. Andreas pushes Gore against the cage but Gore circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Andreas takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Gore digs a good hook to Andreas's body.
Gore misses with the combination.
Gore scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Andreas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Al Gore is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gore throws a series of punches but Andreas avoids them all with ease.
Horrible takedown by Andreas or perhaps it was just good defense by Gore which made him look bad.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rodrigo Andreas's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rodrigo Andreas's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Al Gore!
