PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Samir Pashto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Samir Pashto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Brown!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Pashto closes the distance and clinches up with Brown, looking for a takedown. Pashto pushes Brown against the cage but Brown circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Pashto or perhaps it was just good defense by Brown which made him look bad.
Pashto fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Samir Pashto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brown fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pashto takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.


It looks like Samir Pashto has been cut.
Pashto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Pashto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pashto is looking to chop away at Brown's legs.
Samir Pashto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Pashto sprawling to the canvas. Brown follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Pashto hang on?


Pashto is rocked!
Pashto punching from the bottom.
Oh Pashto is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pashto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pashto seems to have got his legs back now.
Pashto trying to control here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown wants to stand up but Pashto has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Pashto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Brown pulls his head out easily.
Pashto punching from the bottom.
Brown blocks the strikes from Pashto.
It looks like Brown is going to stand back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pashto fails with the takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Brown throws a series of punches but Pashto moves out of range.
Brown rushes Pashto with punches - Pashto moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Pashto goes down! Brown follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Brown!
