Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brian Baumgardner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Wentworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baumgardner's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, COWBOYS FROM HELL. Wentworth is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Spitfire by The Prodigy. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brian Baumgardner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Josh Wentworth!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baumgardner throws a jab when Wentworth was well out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Wentworth 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Wentworth shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Baumgardner's guard.

Baumgardner is working an open guard so Wentworth takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Wentworth tries to clinch but Baumgardner is having none of it.
Baumgardner uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wentworth.
Wentworth swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Baumgardner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Baumgardner is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Wentworth wants to control but Baumgardner is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Baumgardner is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Wentworth is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Wentworth makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wentworth.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Baumgardner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Baumgardner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wentworth has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Baumgardner has managed to get both his arms back between Wentworth's legs - danger averted.
Wentworth wants to sweep here but Baumgardner controlling him for the moment.

Wentworth has control of Baumgardner's left arm, preventing Baumgardner from doing any damage.
Wentworth working a defensive guard but Baumgardner manages to pass into side control anyway.
Wentworth is looking to regain half guard here but Baumgardner keeps moving and retains side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Wentworth on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Wentworth manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Baumgardner is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Baumgardner prevents Wentworth from improving his position.

Baumgardner seems to be working for a kimura but Wentworth defends the submission attempt.
Wentworth is looking to control Baumgardner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wentworth avoid being mounted?
Wentworth is looking for a sweep. Baumgardner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Baumgardner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Baumgardner trying to mount his opponent but Wentworth defends it.
Wentworth is trying to maintain the position but Baumgardner is very close to passing his half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Wentworth swings for the body but Baumgardner moves out of range.
Wentworth thows a body shot but no joy.
Baumgardner shoots and misses
and Wentworth counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Baumgardner is breathing heavily.
Wentworth wants to clinch up but Baumgardner keeps it at a distance.
A combination from Wentworth does no damage.
Baumgardner throws a shot from downtown. Wentworth moves away and avoids it.
Baumgardner fails with the takedown
and Wentworth counters with a three punch combo that has Baumgardner backing up. Baumgardner nods at Wentworth to acknowledge the strikes.
Wentworth lunges at Baumgardner with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Baumgardner's hand.
Baumgardner checks the leg kick.

Wentworth scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Wentworth decides to stand back up. Wentworth steps back and let's Baumgardner get back to his feet.

Wentworth lands with an uppercut that bounces Baumgardner off the cage and back into rage.

and Wentworth counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Baumgardner. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Baumgardner tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Wentworth has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wentworth connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Wentworth dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Wentworth in side control, throwing shots but Baumgardner defends.
Baumgardner is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wentworth stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Wentworth throws a nice looking combination but Baumgardner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Baumgardner gets caught flat footed, as Wentworth shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Wentworth trying to control but Baumgardner is working from the bottom.
Wentworth working some strikes from top position.

Baumgardner is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Wentworth frees his head nicely. Oh but Baumgardner has switched to an armbar! Wentworth is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
