The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maddrox fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rippa, pushing him back against the cage.
Maddrox goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rippa prevents it.

Maddrox's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A telegraphed right hand from Rippa misses the target.
Rippa lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

It looks like Jamie Maddrox has been cut.
Rippa moves out of range of the leg kick from Maddrox.
Good exchange - Rippa coming out on top.
Maddrox checks the leg kick nicely there.
Rippa lands with a shot to the body.
Rippa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Maddrox tries to clinch up but Rippa circles away and keeps his distance.
Rippa throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Rippa throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Rippa throws a head kick but Maddrox moves out of range.
Maddrox bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Maddrox tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rippa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rippa throws a head kick that half lands.
Maddrox shoots for a double leg takedown but Rippa sprawls well. He's pushed Maddrox's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A big right from Rippa misses.
Maddrox looks up at the clock. Bad move! Rippa lands a right hand from hell, dropping Maddrox. Rippa pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
