Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be. On his way into the cage it seems that David Collins has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily David Collins seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barnes looks to land a body kick but Collins moved away. Barnes throws a sloppy head kick and Collins moves out of range easily. Barnes goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. DJ Barnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barnes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Collins. Collins keeps the fight on the outside. Barnes tries to clinch there but Collins circles away.
Collins fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Collins shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Barnes as he jumps to the side. Barnes just misses with a punch to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Barnes darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barnes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Collins.
Barnes scores with a crisp jab that stopped Collins in his tracks. Barnes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barnes wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Collins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Barnes cracks Collins with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like David Collins has been cut. Barnes is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Barnes clinches up with Collins and pushes him back against the cage. Barnes misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Collins.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Barnes is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Collins is adopting a defensive guard. Barnes won't allow Collins to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barnes in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Collins lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Barnes! Barnes squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Barnes tries to control the position but Collins now has his back.

Collins closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Collins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barnes keeps working. Collins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Collins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Collins advances to full mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barnes is looking to get to half guard. Barnes is trying to stand but he's just given Collins his back. Barnes can't escape the position.

Collins tries to keep control of the position but Barnes is staying busy. Collins avoiding Barnes 's attempts to control his hands. Collins working for the choke. Barnes manages to reverse the position and now he's in Collins's guard. Nice work there by Barnes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barnes is fighting to break Collins's control of his arms but Collins is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Collins wants to sweep but no luck.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Barnes fails with an attempt to clinch.

Barnes clobbers Collins with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Barnes throws a push kick but Collins slaps the foot to one side. Excellent takedown into side control there by Collins. Barnes is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Collins's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Collins is looking to advance position but Barnes won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barnes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Collins shoots in looking for a takedown. Barnes tries to sprawl out of it but Collins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Barnes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Barnes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Barnes throws a hook but Collins blocks it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barnes throws a hook but Collins avoids it easily. Barnes misses with a wild combination.
Collins shoots in for a takedown but Barnes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Barnes misses with a looping right. Barnes throws a wild body kick that Collins sees coming a mile off. Barnes fails with an attempt to clinch.

Barnes throws a lazy body kick and Collins counters with an inside leg kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Barnes throws a head kick that misses so Collins counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Collins passes Barnes's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Collins perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barnes is concentrating on defense, preventing Collins from advancing position. Collins trying to control from half guard but Barnes is working away. Collins prevents Barnes from standing back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Collins is keen to just control but Barnes is a slippery customer. Barnes is trying to stand up here but Collins is controlling him well. Collins wants to control but Barnes is keeping him busy. Collins stops Barnes from getting back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Collins circles away from the clinch attempt and Collins counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to David Collins. I think Collins has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
