5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, King Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tubzinki tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Emelianenko is defended easily by Tubzinki. Nice sprawl there from Tubzinki as Emelianenko shoots in. Emelianenko blocks a head kick by Tubzinki.
Emelianenko is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tubzinki sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Randall Tubzinki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Emelianenko. Tubzinki looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Tubzinki getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Tubzinki scores a takedown into full mount! Emelianenko takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Tubzinki lands with some strikes. Tubzinki landing strikes from the mount. Tubzinki lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Tubzinki looking to control but Emelianenko is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. Tubzinki is landing with some decent strikes but Emelianenko is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Emelianenko working to try and regain half guard.
Tubzinki has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tubzinki really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Tubzinki postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Emelianenko looks a forlorn figure.
Tubzinki is going olschool here, as he tries to force Emelianenko to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Emelianenko shrugs it off. Tubzinki looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tubzinki trying to control but he's not successful this time. Tubzinki working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Emelianenko looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Tubzinki! Submission of the night perhaps?
