Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smithsonian blocks a head kick by Novaria.
Novaria looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Smithsonian checks a leg kick.
Smithsonian misses with a takedown attempt - Novaria sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Smithsonian ducks under a wild hook from Novaria.
Smithsonian shoots for a takedown but Novaria saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Smithsonian shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Novaria's guard.
Smithsonian is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smithsonian has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Smithsonian drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smithsonian jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smithsonian is pushing down on Novaria's leg trying to pass to half guard. Novaria is fighting to maintain full guard but Smithsonian has managed to sneak the leg through.
Smithsonian seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Novaria does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Smithsonian in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
