PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renan Filho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jax Corver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Corver instigates a clinch.

Corver moves in looking to clinch but Filho pushes him off.
Filho fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Filho looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Corver tries to close the distance and clinch up but Filho swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Filho changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Corver fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Filho throws a right hand that Corver ducks under and follows up with a left that Corver also avoids with ease.
Filho has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Corver finds it's way round the side to connect with Filho's head.

Corver lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Filho circles away quickly and effectively.

and Corver decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Filho's guard.
Corver makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Corver throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Filho's waist but Filho gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Corver off to one side.

Corver changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Filho looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Filho bucks up and tries to throw Corver off but instead Corver has got his back!

Corver lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

Filho has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Corver connects with a big shot to the side of Filho's head.
Filho is trying to stand back up.

Corver is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Filho has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Corver has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Filho taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Corver doesn't care though - he's delighted!
