Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fred Smoot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Jakobz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jakobz has chosen RSP feat. Thomax - Nordaførr as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Smoot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Jakobz!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smoot throws a series of punches but Jakobz moves out of range.
Jakobz misses the shot to the body.
Smoot tries to clinch there but Jakobz circles away.
Jakobz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jakobz fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


It looks like Fred Smoot has been cut.
Smoot uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jakobz.
Jakobz moves out of range of the strikes.
Smoot shoots for a takedown but Jakobz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jakobz misses with an uppercut. Smoot saw that one coming.
Jakobz cracks Smoot with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Jay Jakobz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jakobz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Smoot takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smoot tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jakobz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smoot somewhat.

Jakobz leaves Smoot with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jakobz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smoot sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Smoot has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jakobz finds it's way round the side to connect with Smoot's head.
The fighters circling - Jakobz throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Smoot stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jakobz.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jakobz stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Jakobz throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jakobz misses with a straight left.
Smoot misses with a series of wild punches.
Smoot throws a series of punches but Jakobz avoids them all with ease.
Smoot wants to clinch.
Jakobz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smoot.
Jakobz misses with a double jab
and Smoot counters with a good low kick that Jakobz was not able to check.

so Smoot counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Smoot passes into half guard.

Smoot wants to take a breather but Jakobz is having none of it.
Jakobz looks like he's trying to stand up.

Smoot wants to free his trapped foot but Jakobz is holding on for dear life with his legs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smoot is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Jakobz has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Jakobz throws a looping overhand right but Smoot ducks down to avoid it.

Smoot stalks Jakobz and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jakobz's face. Jakobz staggers backwards, shaken.
Smoot shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jakobz as he avoids it easily.
Smoot fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jakobz manages to avoid it.

Smoot works Jakobz's body with a nice hook.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jakobz swings away with a body shot that misses

and Smoot counters with a single leg into guard. Jakobz didn't expect that.

Smoot postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jakobz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smoot, into his guard.
Smoot has a closed guard, preventing Jakobz from standing up.

Smoot working for a triangle but Jakobz defends it easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fred Smoot showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Smoot has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
