Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ron Johnstone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Baxter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Baxter will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Johnstone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Baxter! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baxter keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Johnstone wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Baxter has him pressed against the cage. Johnstone wants to get back to striking at distance but Baxter won't allow it.
Johnstone breaks the clinch.
Johnstone tries to clinch up. Baxter changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnstone looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Johnstone tries to improve position but can't. Baxter is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnstone has escaped the position, nice work there. Johnstone tries to improve position but can't. Baxter tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Johnstone is looking to regain half guard here but Baxter keeps moving and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnstone manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Johnstone regains full guard. Nicely done. Baxter trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnstone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Baxter tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnstone is retaining full guard. Johnstone looking to hit a scissor sweep but Baxter is one step ahead there. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Johnstone working for a triangle but Baxter defends it easily.
Baxter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Baxter trying to control but Johnstone is working from the bottom. Baxter wants to stand but Johnstone has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Johnstone trying to keep a closed guard but Baxter is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnstone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Johnstone is breathing heavily. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Baxter trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnstone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Johnstone looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Baxter passes into side control.
Baxter decides to stand back up. Baxter steps back and let's Johnstone get back to his feet. Baxter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Johnstone stuffs the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baxter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnstone tries to avoid it but Baxter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnstone to the ground. Johnstone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ron Johnstone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Baxter. Johnstone doesn't manage to clinch there - Baxter circles away.
Johnstone misses with a head kick.
Baxter looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Baxter showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Baxter is posturing up here but Johnstone has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Baxter tries to roll out but it's too tight and Baxter has to tap! Slick submission there by Johnstone!
