PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Berric Dondarrion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwayne Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dondarrion has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Berric Dondarrion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dwayne Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dondarrion fails with a takedown attempt.
Dondarrion tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dondarrion shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side.
Johnson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dondarrion is breathing heavily.
Johnson lands a couple of elbows.
Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! Dondarrion is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dondarrion manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into Dondarrion's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dondarrion swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dondarrion has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Johnson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Dondarrion has tightened it up now! Johnson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
