Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eric Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eric Martin has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Martin's head backwards.

Rogers moves into the clinch successfully.

Martin is working for takedown but Rogers is calmly controlling the position for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Martin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Rogers throws a left and a right that both miss

and Martin counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Rogers is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Martin is controlling him.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Martin can do anything to dispel that myth.

Martin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

and Martin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rogers's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Eric Martin will probably get the nod.

Martin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Martin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rogers is just riding it out for now. Martin eventually gives up the hold.

Martin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rogers wants to stand but Martin is controlling the position.

Martin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Martin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rogers is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Martin asserts his dominance and retains side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rogers is trying to escape the mount but Martin keeps good control and instead manages to take Rogers's back.
Martin lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Martin.

I would not like to be Rogers right now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rogers is trying to get back to his feet but Martin has full control of the position and if anything, Rogers has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Rogers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Martin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

BOOM! Martin connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Eric Martin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Martin is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Rogers is tapping out! This one is all over!
