1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Larry Fitzgerald! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCaig has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. McCaig misses with a body shot.
McCaig jabbing away but nothing is landing. Fitzgerald bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Fitzgerald misses with a series of wild punches.
McCaig ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fitzgerald moves away. McCaig looks for the body kick but Fitzgerald saw that one coming. Fitzgerald throws a wild combination but nothing lands. McCaig tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Fitzgerald paws at him with a jab and circles away. Fitzgerald tries to bum rush McCaig with a series of wild strikes but McCaig uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Fitzgerald ducks under a wild hook from McCaig. McCaig throws a combination that misses and McCaig takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

McCaig comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Fitzgerald uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McCaig. McCaig looks to throw the jab but Fitzgerald is out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fitzgerald throws a left and a right that both miss
and McCaig counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. McCaig wants to clinch up but Fitzgerald keeps it at a distance. McCaig misses with a straight right. McCaig shoots in but no luck this time. Larry Fitzgerald is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fitzgerald jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

McCaig is looking for a kimura but Fitzgerald is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McCaig to get the leverage. McCaig is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

and McCaig counters with a nice double leg into guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. McCaig trying to control but Fitzgerald is working from the bottom. McCaig postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. McCaig throwing strikes from guard but Fitzgerald blocks nicely. McCaig keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fitzgerald's head. McCaig sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fitzgerald's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCaig looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fitzgerald with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. McCaig is trying to work for a kimura but Fitzgerald is defending well.
