Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nikita Kotoski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fin Shark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shark is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Dan Sebenarnya. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nikita Kotoski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fin Shark! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shark swings away with a leg kick that misses. Kotoski throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kotoski tries to land a front kick but Shark steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Shark darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Kotoski wants to get back to full guard. Shark is working for a kimura but Kotoski is defending it quite comfortably.
Kotoski is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Shark pulls his head out easily. Kotoski tries to get to full guard but Shark has control of the leg. Shark perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Kotoski moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shark preventing the sweep. Kotoski has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Shark is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kotoski. Kotoski is looking to regain half guard here but Shark keeps moving and retains side control. Kotoski is not content to let Shark control the position. Shark working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Shark is chipping away with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kotoski is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Shark is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Kotoski can't escape the position.

Kotoski gets back to half guard. Kotoski is breathing heavily. Shark stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Kotoski throws a chopping leg kick but Shark manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kotoski throws an overhand right that lands on Shark's shoulder, as Shark tries to avoid the shot. Kotoski throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kotoski throws a jab but it's blocked by Shark. Nikita Kotoski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kotoski wants to land a leg kick but Shark is out of range. Kotoski thows a body shot but no joy. Kotoski scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Nice shot lands for Kotoski. Kotoski throws a nice looking combination but Shark bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kotoski goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Kotoski swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shark drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shark gets to mount! Kotoski was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Kotoski is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kotoski wants to hold on but Shark pushes him away. Kotoski tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kotoski wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Shark is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

You can see the frustration on Kotoski's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Kotoski tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fin Shark dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
No joy there for Kotoski, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kotoski takes a swing at Shark's ribcage but misses. Kotoski throws a body punch but Shark moves out of range. Kotoski throws a series of punches but Shark moves out of range. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kotoski lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shark has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shark and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Shark closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shark lands in his opponent's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shark wants to control from the top but Kotoski keeps moving. Shark might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kotoski kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Kotoski throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Shark escapes and throws Kotoski's legs to the side, diving into side control! Kotoski is pushing Shark's head away, looking to escape. Shark manages to hold on to the position though. Kotoski is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Shark off and has taken his back! Kotoski tries to keep control of the position but Shark is staying busy. Shark wants to control his opponent's hands but Kotoski gets his hands free. Shark defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kotoski throws his legs up looking for a submission but Shark uses it to pass to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kotoski is trying to buck Shark off. Kotoski is looking for a sweep. Kotoski wants to get back to his feet. Shark tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Shark controls the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Shark tries to clinch but Kotoski is having none of it. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Shark checks a leg kick. Shark shoots in and bounces Kotoski off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kotoski looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Shark advances to half guard. Shark controlling the pace. Shark stops Kotoski from getting back to his feet.
Kotoski looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Shark is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kotoski defends it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shark in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kotoski tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Shark!
